Master the elements during the Temple Raid event! Temple Raid is a relatively new PVP/PVE event and it’s all about teamwork to conquer the elemental islands and defeat powerful guardians. This event is slightly more complicated than most other events, but don’t worry. We have the basics covered in this tutorial and we are more than happy to help you out!
Treasure hunt phase
The event kicks off with the treasure hunt phase, which lasts for about a day. During this phase you attack from your home screen as you normally would. By destroying monuments on other players bases you can obtain chests filled with goodies that will come in handy during the event. On the event screen, a timer will count down to the beginning of the actual event during which the the following basics apply:
Like in all PVP and PVE events, attacking costs energy. You will start out with 16 energy which refills over time when you used it. In addition, you can use energy refills to buy more energy. Refills can be obtained by opening chests. Once you purchased new energy, the costs for energy will go up. The costs will reset after 12 hours for this event.
For every event attack you do, the game will add up the flames you earned. Once you have earned 80 flames a wildfire attack will be available to you. This attack will give you a massive points multiplier!
Inner fire is a spell boost that will double the points of your attack. You can use multiple inner fires per attack by flying with multiple dragons that have an inner fire spell activated. Inner fires are hard to get by so use them wisely!
Temple Raid Event:
The main screen of the event contains a circle of 5 islands, each representing one of the elements: Earth, Ice, Dark, Wind and Fire. All islands have a path leading to the island’s temple. The goal is to defeat every temple to unlock the Shrine of Elements in the middle, or, to gain as many Victory Points for your team as possible. Each player can attack the islands by using energy. Make sure to check the team chat before you attack though, it’s important to work together and follow the same strategy in order to gain as many victory points for the team as possible!
Basically, we all need to attack the same island to progress as fast as possible. The team leaders will set a red marker on the island that needs to be attacked, make sure to only focus on that island!
How to progress on the islands
Each island has a path that leads to the island’s temple. Along the way there are 3 minor monuments to conquer, each guarded by a temple guard that must be defeated in order to move further along the path. In order to reach the temple, the team must defeat 4 temple guards, the last one being in font of the big temple at the end of the path.
To move along the path, attack players from the other teams. The teams that you attack will loose progression points. This means teams can tactically slow eachother down. The temple guards serve as a checkpoint, meaning once you reached it, you can’t be pushed back to before that point. Ideally, use a dragon of the same element as the island you are on because this will boost the progress! Inner fires can be used on the opposite teams as well as the temple guards to boost the score as well.
Entering the Temple
Once your team has defeated the final guard, they enter the temple. There, you must defeat the Temple Guardians! Once inside the temple, teams have 3 hours to defeat them. Players are on their own in the temple, meaning other team members can not join your attack. Inner fires can not be used for attacking temple guardians. The team will gain VP for each defeated guardian.
Each temple guardian represents a dragon tier. Everyone will start with the red tier, moving up to harbinger. A temple guardian can only be attacked by a dragon of the same tier! So if you’re breeding green dragons, the green guardian will be the last one you can defeat.
The first attack on each guardian is free. If you fail to defeat the guardian in one go, you can try again for 2 energy. Each time you try again, 2 energy is added to the cost, with a maximum of 8 energy. If the team managed to defeat all the temple guardians before the timer ends, they will be brought back to the beginning of the island’s path. Teams can conquer the same islands multiple times to gain more VP.
A storm rages over the map, causing havoc on every island it hits. It takes 3 hours for the storm to move: 3 hours on an island, 3 hours inbetween the previous island and the next one and so on. If an island is hit by the storm, all progress will be reset unless your team is safe inside the temple. You’ll understand that it’s really important to keep track of the storm!
When the storm hits an island, it becomes inaccessible for 3 hours. After the storm passed, teams can start to progress over the island again. As soon as the storm passed, the island that was hit becomes supercharged, meaning that the first team to defeat the temple will get bonus VP. As soon as the first team reaches the main temple, the island will loose it’s supercharged status.
The Shrine of Elements
If your team manages to defeat the temple guardians on every island, the elemental shrine unlocks. This is an optional feature since it will not give the team more VP to defeat it. The guardians of this shrine are much much much harder to defeat than the temple guardians so we might want to wait until we all are much stronger 😉
- The event involves 5 elemental islands, each holding 3 monuments and a temple that must be defeated
- The goal of the event is to gain as much VP for the team as possible by defeating guards and temple guardians
- We need to steal progress from other teams by attacking them in order to move forward on the island’s path
- You will gain personal event points with every attack you do, as well as team VP for the guards and guardians you defeat
- Dragons of the same element as the island will receive bonus points
- Temple guardians can only be attacked by dragons of the same tier
- Islands can be completed multiple times for extra VP
- Keep an eye out for the storm, we don’t want our progress to be reset
- Communication and coordinated attacks are key, so check the teamchat and only attack the island marked with a red target!
