Fortification Frenzy is all about upgrading your base. You earn points for the resources (wood, food, embers, shards and pearls) you spend on upgrading your towers, buildings and farms. Just like the other War Dragons events, this event will start on wednesday and lasts for 5 days. Level up your towers and strengthen your base!
Here is a quick recap on how to earn event points. Points are earned individually while the team rank is determined by all the individual scores combined.
- Every 10 wood = 1 point
- Every 10 food spent on upgrading lumber mills = 1 point
- Each shard, ember or black pearl = 10 points
We have listed some extremely handy tips below.
Don’t level up too fast!
By upgrading offensive towers, you will gain player XP. As tempting as it may seem to jump through 12 player levels in 5 days, always ask yourself if your dragons are strong enough to take on bases of your new level. Many of us have outgrown our dragons at some point in the game and it is not a position you want to be in; It will be so much harder to get a decent amount of XP on your dragons to grow, and you can get stuck for quite some time. If you want to know if you are still on track, we recommend checking Red’s Dragon Check-in
Here is a list of buildings that you can safely upgrade without gaining player XP:
- Lumber mills
- Storage building (make sure this one is always at maximum level!)
- Builder hut (keep this one maxed as well)
- Dragon’s den
- Breeding castle
- Hall of research
Save all your Speedups for this event
That’s right, all of them! The higher your tower’s levels, the longer it takes to complete them. Don’t be surprised if at some point it will take over 2 weeks to finish a building. Therefore, you will need all the speedups you can get your hands on. You can earn speedups from event chests, from flying with your dragons, or, you can forge them.
Keep your resources safe
Everyone will need wood, and lots of it. You will constantly be under attack if you are sitting on a huge pile of wood so make sure you use what you have, or send it to a teammate who can use it. It’s no use to keep in in your storage, you will be robbed blind in minutes.
A good trick to protect your wood is not to collect it from your lumber mills. STOP COLLECTING FROM YOUR MILLS ATLEAST 24 HOURS BEFORE EVENT STARTS! The mills will act as a second storage, allowing you to quickly collect when you are ready to build. Stop collecting several hours before the event starts so you’re sure they carry enough wood.
Furthermore, boost your base to make it harder for attackers to rob you. Always defend your teammates if they are under attack. Having a strong, defendable base is key, so make sure to check out our Base building guide!
How to get wood quickly
Hunting for wood is ofcourse the obvious answer here. Attack bases that have a good amount of wood piled up and raid it! You can also use a production boost to increase the amount of wood your mills make. To see the available boosts, click on the storage hut on your base.
Wood packs can be earned in events. You can find the available packs by clicking on the wood button at the top of your screen. Only open them if you can use them immediately. If you go wood-hunting after opening them, you will probably have lost them by the time you finish.
Finally: Ask your teammates for wood when you need it. Sharing is caring! So being in a team that looks out for eachother will really help you during this event.
